Sandwich panels with Kagome lattice cores reinforced by carbon fibers

Stretching dominated Kagome lattices reinforced by carbon fibers were designed and manufactured. The sandwich panels were assembled with bonded laminate skins. The mechanical behaviors of the sandwich panels were tested by out-of-plane compression, in-plane compression and three-point bending. Different failure modes of the sandwich structures were revealed. The experimental results showed that the carbon fiber reinforced lattice grids are much stiffer and stronger than foams and honeycombs. It was found that buckling and debonding dominate the mechanical behavior of the sandwich structures, and that more complaint skin sheets might further improve the overall mechanical performance of the sandwich panels.

Patterns of discrimination in hiring job applicants with disabilities: The role of disability type, job complexity, and public contact.

Objective: To evaluate the effects of disability type, job complexity, and public contact on hiring decisions. Design and Participants: An Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA; 1990) fact sheet and matched resumes with vocational and medical histories including chronic mental illness, developmental disability, closed head injury, and back injury were provided to 295 undergraduate business-related majors, who rated the applicants' suitability for 2 job positions and work shifts. Results: Findings indicated disparities in ratings of employability as a function of disability type. Paired comparisons yielded complementary findings, with effects of disability type and Disability Type × Job Complexity, but no effects of public contact. 抗裂合成纤维混凝土在尼尔基发电厂房工程中的应用

为了提高发电厂房水轮机混凝土蜗壳的抗裂、抗渗、抗冲击、抗震、抗冲耐磨性能，在尼尔基水利枢纽工程蜗壳混凝土的施工中掺加抗裂合成纤维，厂房项目部试验人员对蜗壳混凝土进行了掺加抗裂合成纤维（CTA Fiber）试验，试验结果及工程实际应用效果良好，提高了工程质量，支持了国家重点工程建设。     

用单透镜变换由多模光纤出射的大功率Nd：YAG激光束的特性

根据理论假设，通过选取单透镜的参数和位置，计算说明了单透镜使经由多模光纤出射的大功率Ｎｄ：ＹＡＧ激光束的发射角压缩，光束聚焦效率提高，光束截面场为高斯分布；文中的计算结果符合已知规律，从而说明了理论假设的正确性。
